TAT 2012 Thursday Night League

Starting this coming Thursday night (3/29/12) Mr.Ed will be hosting an HFDS league at Texas Army Trail. The league fee will be 20.00 for HFDS members and 25.00 for non-members.

Entrance Ramp and Parking Lot

Precinct 3 continues to work on the TAT entrance ramp and parking lot. They have install a barrier around the parking lot and created a new ramp.

County starts work on turning lane and ramp

Precint 3 stated work on turning lane and ramp for Bud Hadfield park today. The worker that Chuck talked to estimated the work would take 3 to 4 weeks.

The piles of dirt on the west side of the detention pond will be moved to low spots on holes 6, 7, and 8.

Dixon Jowers & John won Sunday Doubles with a score or 49 (5 under) with 6 Birdies - A new course doubles record.

33 players came out for Sunday Night doubles, and 9 players came out for Saturday Night Singles.

The county did not come out this week; however the work crew was busy. On hole 14 a bridge was built over the low crossing to the green.

48 Played Doubles Sunday at 5. All the new faces Sunday night provided fun for everyone as 16 teams played "bring you own partner", and another 8 teams were formed from random draw doubles.

A great big thank to everyone who played one or more tournaments this weekend.

Saturday 9 played singles
Sunday 32 played doubles
Monday 65 played in the July 4th min.

The Sunday doubles had 13 bring your own partner and 6 Random draw doubles. The mix of these two doubles styles seem to work well, so we are going to continue mixing them.

A real big thank you goes out to Chuck for the hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, grill, and other the other goodies.

On Saturday, the work crew cut a putting area for hole 12 and removed stumps in hole 12 fairway.

The coming holiday weekend is going to be busy at Texas Army Trail.

Saturday 2nd - Work crew will be out from 11 or so till 2 hacking away at hole 12. At 5:00 PM we'll hold a singles mini.

Sunday 3rd - Work crew will be out from 10 to 2 working on whatever needs help on the final 6 holes - 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14.

This week the work crew augured and cemented in the last 6 anchors for the final 6 baskets. Hole 13 was widened for about 50 feet.

They enjoyed our two news holes, 8 and 15. Also the alternative basket locations for holes 1-4 were a bit hit.

The work crew installed anchors for Alt-1, Alt-2, Alt-3, Alt 4, Hole 8, hole 15, alt-16, and alt-17. The crew also continued to clear stumps on hole 8 and hole 15.
Next week the mini has some major changes.

This weekend the work crew continued the prep work on holes 8 and 15. On 8 we cleared 4 more feet on the left part of the fairway for about 100 feet before the basket.

Texas Army Trail is excited to announce a change in payout for our Sunday mini's. Starting May 22nd, Texas Army Trail (TAT) will run three divisions:

Donation, Open And Amateur.

This weekend we widened hole 5 about mid-way to allow for a better landing area for the first shot. We also widened hole 16 from the tee pad for about 150 feet by cutting about 4 more feet on the right.

This weekend we continued to work on finishing holes 8 and 15. Both holes had sticks and stumps removed.

This weekend we worked on several holes: On hole 2: Cleared the tee pad so that other people in your group can watch your tee shot. On hole 3: Cleared the underbrush on the basket approach, so once you get in the woods the putts are easier.
